In schools around the nation, there is a disproportionate amount of African American and Hispanic students that receives special education services.  However, this group, (1) the least aware of their parental rights under the Individuals with Disabilities Educational Act (IDEA), (2) rarely have access to information about early intervening services for their infants and toddlers when they’re not developing typically, (3) unable to navigate the school system properly, (4) ill-informed about including their children in the general education classroom as an alternative to having their children placed in a segregated self-contained classroom. The harvest is plentiful the laborers are few.

Your donation can help get the word out to families that are in desperate need of answers but don’t know where to go for those answers, and sometimes, sadly, families don’t know the questions to ask.
